India bans 59 Chinese Apps including TikTok, ShareIt, UC Browser, CamScanner, WeChat

Today (29th June,2020) the Government of India has decided to ban 59 Chinese Apps  including TikTok, ShareIt, UC Browser, CamScanner, WeChat. Already there were speculations about banning certain Apps from China Owing to securities threats. With rising tensions on the border the Government of India has taken an unprecedented step of banning as much as 59 Apps.
The Ministry of Information of Technology invoked its power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act to ban the Apps. As per the official statement There have been raging concerns on aspects relating to data security and safeguarding the privacy of 130 crore Indians. It has been noted recently that such concerns also pose a threat to sovereignty and security of our country”
